THE ANGEL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY

DSC00187.jpg

BY ALEC SILBERBLATT

DIRECTED BY DANIELLA CAGGIANO

NEW WAVE THEATER COLLECTIVE

“This is truly one of the most well done and impressive theatrical pieces I have seen to date. Not only are the plot and dialogue brilliant, filled with so much emotion and packed with legitimately difficult moral questions, but the actors are able to bring about moments of suffering and manipulation with the same poignant effect… For example, Margo is such a strong character who goes by her own rules and code of conduct, but there is a point in the show when we believe she has changed for the better. When she and Donna share a drink towards the show's end, Margo seems repentant over the reclusive and violent life she has been living; we believe she has atoned, but instead she does something so horrible that no one sees it coming.”

Fire

BY DEBRA WHITFIELD

DIRECTED BY BENJAMIN VEIRTEL

CHATILLION PRODUCTIONS

As the nature of her character's story demands, Malka Wallick turns out possibly the most engaging performance as young Russian immigrant Anna.

-- Erin Kahn; Stage Buddy

"The cast is exceptional in portraying the lives of the individuals who worked at the factory... The cast members’ exquisite talents along with the director’s acute skill in shepherding them toward the inevitability of horror, keep us enthralled, throughout, even though we know the outcome to be mortality and destruction."

-- Carole Di Tosti; Theatre Pizzazz

Portraying the central trio of working girls, especially noteworthy performances are turned in by...Wallick as Anna, a transplant from Eastern Europe who is conflicted about marrying her fiancé because of the dark secret she keeps hidden;"

-- Deb Miller; DC Metro Theatre Arts

R+J

By Erin Breznitsky

Directed by Kelly M Johnston

The Rogue & Peasant Player, NYC

"Malka Wallick makes the production. Her J is honest without being obnoxious even when she shows her worst side. Wallick leads the show"

-- Chris Bouknight; On Stage Critic

Henry V

Directed by Kelly M Johnston

The Rogue & Peasant Players, NYC

"The very first speech—the famous, O, For a Muse of Fire, performed with great passion and a flawless command of the language by the company’s artistic director Malka Wallick—admits and apologizes that the resources available to stage the play are inadequate. Wallick implores the audience to make use of its collective imagination." --Theater is Easy

"By Ismene’s (Malka Wallick) bewailing moans we know that she has no choice but to turn away from Antigone; we can sense and feel her heartache with unmistakable clarity."
